I spotted this beautiful green heron hanging out on a log during my trip to the nature preserve last weekend. Typically they're much farther away and hiding among brush, so I was very happy to be able to catch it in this setting.

Nice seeing this thread pop back up. I haven't been out too often since Fall migration ended a couple of months back, so don't really have too much to share. Have been reconsidering which lens to pair with my 600PF, and the past year has seen the 400 4.5 in that roll, but recently have re-added the 100-400 due to the unbeatable MFD and zoom versatility for mixing up compositions.
