Yanni is the brother of a client that I photographed yesterday. My client brought him along to help out by holding the reflector for a handful of photos from yesterday's shoot, and in exchange for his help I offered to take a few portraits, which he was happy to accept. This is one of those photos. Photographed using a Canon 5D MKIII with a Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 lens, lit using natural light and a silver reflector.
Thanks Charles. Honestly I'm glad he was brought along; I probably would have taken a few portraits of him whether he helped or not. He just has that look that the camera loves.

I have been an avid fan of Yanni for a very long time Daniel. I saw him him up close and personal when he came to DC many years ago.
Fantastic composition Daniel! As always extremely well composed!

I didn't even know he was a singer until after the photo shoot. They took me back to Yanni's apartment to listen to some new music by the two artists I was photographing that day, and Yanni played me one of his songs as well. They're all very talented. I didn't realize anyone from here would recognize him though. That's pretty cool!
They are BOTH extremely talented musicians, producers... I have seen Yanni numerous times when he was in the Wash DC area. His orchestra and his band are unified in their presentation. He always has a female violinist that is phenominal!
I am happy you had the opportunity to photograph and listen to their music!
Well done!
