Great conditions but overprocessed. The reflection in the lake should never be brighter than the direct sky.
Don't know what you are talking about -- the reflection in the lake is not brighter than the direct sky. I did not brighten the reflection in the lake, nor darken the sky -- it is what it is. The darker area at the top of the image is simply natural vignetting from shooting with at 9mm, and that part of the sky reflection is obscured by the shore in the foreground -- but believe whatever you want.

Gorgeous composition and processing. I guess Orphoto must be referring to the vignetting, which I would work on a bit if it were mine.
Thanks for the comment, Jim. Your suggestion is appreciated.
If vignetting was what he was referring to, he simply stated it wrong. I looked pretty objectively (I think) at the exposure of the sky vs its reflection in the lake, and the relfection is not brighter than the actual sky that's being reflected. That, plus I learned long ago to be careful with terms like 'never', 'always', etc. -- especially when applied to imaging.
I have a 20X40 metal print of this image hanging in my living room, my only regret is that I did not get a 40X60 -- it looks pretty amazing as a high gloss metal print -- Grinnell looks very 3D in that print.
