I happened across this image while preparing a tribute to the 40th anniversary of the Indianapolis Colts Cheerleaders. I was their official "official" photographer from 1994 to 2006. For the majority of the years I used a Bronica ERTSi outfit.

This particular image was the 2005 squad captured on a Canon 1D Mkll. Not bad for a 7 megapixel camera. Lens was the Canon 28-70 f2.8. ISO 100...1/250 shutter....f10. Novatron 1500ws power pack with two light heads bounced into two umbrellas.

Posted in the Canon section under "Old School Canon DSLR" thread....just thought I'd share here as well.

Very interesting, Larry. And a fine photo. I like how they are positioned - not rigidly in exact spacing, but casual.

Now, we NEED more pixels. Seven million is not enough! How did we ever get by?

Thanks Jim.
Ironically, there is a space left open on the right side of the back row. One of the ladies was unavailable for the photo so we had to photograph her separately and "drop her in". The graphics department of the organization took care of that task for the actual final image. Unfortunately I do not have a copy of that.

As to the pixel count.....were I to still be photographing the squad today I might consider renting a medium format digital rig. In the words of Tim the tool man Taylor......UGH UGH UGH

Sweet shot and girls...Only one with eyes closed, pretty good.
Love all your shots.

Bill, thanks for looking.
Of the 15 or so images we did of the whole group, her eyes were closed on over half of them. This one was the best of everybody else.

There are a couple of other smaller groups we did that evening. I don't remember why we did them though....perhaps "veterans" of a special squad of some sort. I may try to process one of each of those and post later.
