As many of you know, I had an arm injury and was unable to hold my camera for a few months. This curtailed my usual visits to Nickerson Beach for the mating and nesting seasons. I'm slowly building my arm back and am able to shoot off a tripod and have been doing so for about a month. Thursday I headed to Nickerson Beach with confidence that I could take the level of activity that this wonderful shore bird rockery brings. As usual one never knows which way to face as there is action everywhere so I chose backgrounds based on the lighting and wind and work the location while kneeling behind my tripod. This set was taken on the wet sand where the waves just stop allowing me to have the ocean as a background and the wind and sun behind me.
Comments and suggestions welcome,
Morris

Incredible shore action nicely capture Morris. Beautiful lighting and composition! Love the action shots, but #5 and #7 resonate the most for me due to the unique lighting and overall content...especially 7.

There are a lot of them again. It's taken years for them to recover from Sandy

Morris,
Happy to hear your getting better, keeping it going.
Beautiful set and you positioned yourself well with the sun and win behind you.

Thank you Chris,
Yes with the sun and wind behind me except for the young OC preening. I'm very happy with my recovery.
These are all top notch....maybe you'll consider using the tripod even once your injury heals....the results speak for themselves! Yes, you might miss a few but in the long run, your body will thank you.

Thank you Rich,
It's an amazing place. I saw whales a couple hundred yards from shore the other day.
