...and this was in Ohio, John!?! Great set, I know I've not seen any in my haunts!
Too many favorites, but if I had to pick just one, no.10 would do it because of the color.
Douglas
Hi Douglas. Yes this was in Northern Ohio , about 30 minutes from my house. A little off the beaten path. My first time seeing one in person. I liked #10 as well. Thanks for looking.

Great series of images of the GCF. I had the fortune to photograph the GCF over several hours many years ago. The bird is human friendly, quite intelligent, expressive and photogenic like your #5 and 6 photos.
Thanks Ted. My first time shooting GCF, a great memory and a few decent shots.

John, I really like all these. They're top-notch, as you do.
It's hard for me to pick a favorite but if I had to pick one (and only one), I think it would be #11. The flight shot is well-executed and puts a little action with the context of the hole in the tree.
The other one that ekes to my second favorite is #4. I like the pose of the flycatcher and the way the color of the prey ties into the overall color scheme.
Truly though, the whole set is wonderful. I'm not sure you could go wrong with any of them.
Hi Kim. Thank you so much. I really appreciate you always looking and leaving such great feedback. The parents would jump down that hole and without warning blastoff out of it. There was a second exit on the backside of the tree, so you never knew which one there were going to exit from.
Holy smokes! Incredible set here John! You got it all these...details, sharpness, dreamy background, poses with perch, and some behavior! They are all great...but 4, 8, and 10 are my faves.
