Thanks for the tremendous response to the last lightning images I shared from my home in Southern Oregon's Rogue Valley. Last night (6/6/23) we were given another awesome thunderstorm, this time at the absolute peak of an incredible sunset! I was fortunate to capture multiple multiple lightning images, this one being my favorite. https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5bcf5d15d86cc90a48a75fc6/1686145454241-S4FCI9R6IEUI4LR6RW3H/_TJH2269-Enhanced-NR+C+SML+WM.jpg
Sony A7RIV with Sony 24-105 at 49mm. 3.2s, f/16, ISO 100. Single exposure. Talent, Oregon.
Side note... I recently purchased Mark Metternich's newly released video tutorial using linear raw profiles and "raw on raw" workflow. This image was processed using techniques taught in that course. If you don't already have it I highly recommend it! There are some interesting and groundbreaking techniques demonstrated throughout the lessons, all of which result in a higher quality finished photo.
The lightning and rainbow combination is really unique. I also love the lighting since it evokes all my personal memories of unique colors during storms through the years.
I have one tiny constructive criticism - the foreground wind fan is bright to the point it draws my eye there immediately before the other compositional elements. Thus, I would darken it down some or eliminate it altogether.
Regardless, a gorgeous capture that deserves a BIG print!
