I've had all the Batis lenses except 40/2, but now I just keep the 135/2.8. I replaced the others gradually with Sony and Sigma lenses. From Loxia lineup I only had the 50/2 but I don't have that anymore. I always preferred Voigtländer lineup over the Loxia.
Sherr speculation, but the dawn of phones that can take pictures, and the down swing of consumer camera's sold, may have played a rolll in Zeiss decision to exit the camera market. If the article is correct.

I'll keep enjoying my Zeiss lenses regardless.
I only see my Zeiss lenses getting better as modern lenses race for perfection at the cost of character.

The Zeiss 50 MP is still one of my favorite lenses of all time. I can tell which photos I took with that lens with just a quick glance. The 100MP is way up there too.
The ZE f/2 50 MP was (is) a masterpiece, among the most versatile of lenses. The ZE 100 f/2 MP was superb, too. I regret not buying the ZE 135 f/2 APO when it was available for a song on BH during the time it was being phased out for the Milvus line.

Stay tuned. Tony N. Breaking News video next.
Ha, for sure.
Gets me thinking...we need a rumour planning thread to get proposals, select the most salacious but possible one, then come up with a plan for another thread where we release it into the wild and see how far it goes

Just buy another. I’ll never part with mine.
I've long looked for a deal on a B85...no dice, they keep their value, which is an excellent indication of what people think about the lens. I think a lot of owners are in the 'never part with mine' category.
I finally just bought a Sigma 85 Art while I was in Japan.
My 85 AF has started to act up. Looks like I’m sending it in this week. It’s my go to for interviews and portraits. Now I need a temporary replacement.

The Loxia 25 was selling for $824.95 on Amazon about a week ago, I was thinking that this corroborated the story. But it's back up to the normal price.
Seriously given this is going to end the one lens worth going after for the long haul would be the Loxia 25mm and if I went for two or others here may than the Loxia 85 after that not so much as we still have Voightlander out there in the manual focus arena. But a pure landscape shooter these two lens are critical focal lengths. On Batis glass I have more a numb feeling on them. Sony glass is just as good or better. Plus they average manual focus lenses nothing special and no lens controls which I like at least the AF/MF switch on the lens. This is more about the long term what I am referring too
