Just got back from a 4-day flyfishing trip into Eastern Washington State, the fishing was so-so with the photography being much better.
There is very strong protective behavior when one bird ventures too far into another’s territory. This behavior and action continues all day and does provide for some interesting interactions.

These are definitely a glam version of the blackbird. They certainly appear a bit more exotic to this east coaster, and here I thought the red wing was special, heh. Well caught Louie!
