A few here from my recent trip to the Eastern & Northern Serengeti- TZ.
Topi sunrise
A trio of European Swallows escort a Topi, heralding in a magical sunrise. Grassland fires over the previous days tempers the sun into a filtered pink, then orange ball. Capturing the image is the easy part, waiting for the right sunrise/weather cond's and co-operation from your subject is another!

Closing in!
A week old baby Thompsons Gazelle's brave run was just about over as a merciless Hyena was inches away from it's breakfast meal, a desperate mother gave all she could in an attempt to distract the pursuer .........but to no avail. Life is particularly tough for these newborns who stay hidden for the first few days of life and its when they gather confidence and strength in their legs and begin to move around they immediately become instant targets for any predators within range.
We are always rooting for the little guys and these moments are tough to witness out on the open plains.

Moving off from a recent Thompsons Gazelle dinner, with his mother close by, a 10 mth old cub poses to a gorgeous pink and orange pastel sunset.

Come to Moma
6.30pm and the Leopardess "Moma Namiri" waits patiently for a small herd of Thompsons Gazelle to approach.

Just beautiful, you captured these moments as well as one could hope. That Hyena shot tugs at the heart strings, but the story it tells is old as time. As I've told my wife, we'd have a lot more vegetarians if people had to do their own butchering.
Thanks for sharing.

So true Eric, and thanks for your kind words.
When speaking with guests (who are fairly new to East/Sth Africa) and they say to me..."We really want to see a kill......we really want to see a kill" I say to them. "Honestly you don't........it can be very confronting"
When I see them again in another vehicle, at least one of them is sobbing and asking their driver to quickly move off. Nature.... Red in tooth and claw.

Outstanding shots, Marc. Another level. Love (genuine love) them all.
Seems like I have been waiting forever for that first one. I’ve imagined similar but never got even close. The birds (and three of them in a row) are the perfect final touch.
The story the second tells… superb. Best mammal action photo I have seen in quite a while.
