Please forgive my naivete since I take exclusively street rather than studio shots, but this is a studio backdrop? It looks like an actual abandoned building.

Yes, this is a studio rental space that is made to look distressed with the exposed brick and other fun stuff. The building even has a studio to look like an apartment and there's another room with neon walls and a motorcycle. As a guy who did a lot of street, I am finding studio work a lot of fun also. Give it a shot if there's space available near you and it has a look you like. It's a different animal of photography for sure but still a blast.Only downside is it comes with a financial cost to pay for the rental and model if she is not doing TFP.
I understand the argument people made for the second set of photos, but I like the first set more (both are good). The pike push-up / downward facing dog shot is my favorite.

Love the shadows. Beautiful shots.
Thank you! The room is perfect for playing around with natural light.

Glad you like the first set. There's just something there that pulled me in with her. It's felt more than seen. But it's all there.
Thanks, for the feedback. The background was gritty and interesting so I didn't mind it coming into the shot clearly. But I totally get it, I usually like a little separation myself but I was okay with there not being much here.
