Congratulations to Gregg B. for winning Feature Thread of the Week with 7 votes - View Previous Winners
Thank you all for your nice comments on my previous post. I am happy that through my post/images/photography I was able to inspire (at least some of you) and motivate to go and shoot more
I've been asked by now multiple times if I run photography workshops (specifically in Patagonia). I used to. I even ran one with Mark Metternich down there many years ago....
Photography is not my primary source of income so at first I said no. It's a hassle when it comes to logistics, rules and regulations, guides (if group is over 7 people or so) and a lot of work for little money.
So at first I hesitated. But the interest is so big that I've decided that maybe next year I'll run a really small one (4, maybe 5 people at most) that can hike and camp. My good friend Andrew is there now (and have been on and off for way over 4 years) will run it with me. He literally knows all the hills, lakes, rivers, trees, etc. etc. there
We can hike 10, maybe 12KM a day (around 7 miles) one way, and camp one or two nights at each location and shoot away.
I have a couple of guys already asking....
If you're interested and would like to go with me and Andrew next year to ONLY Argentina for 10 days, stay in El Chalten, and shoot together please PM me for more info. I can point you to Andrews gallery on Flickr (much better and bigger images than on Instagram or Facebook) and we can go from there.
Here are a few more shots from Argentina. The place has endless possibilities for an amazing landscape shots. But, we also shot condors, eagles, and woodpeckers, lots of them there for some reasons...
Thank you!
What a wonderful series of the magical place photography, Gregg! I remember a few years ago I almost joined your one and only Patagonia workshop.. and I immensely regretted not being able to. Anyway, this place El Chalten maybe beyond my limit because I cannot hike 12MI per day and camp!! I truly enjoyed your photos! Thanks for sharing them.
It’s not 12 miles. It’s 12km (so about 7 miles), and lots of places is just 4km away! So that’s nothing. Most pics here in this series is between 4 to 7 Km (so about 3.5 to 5miles). It’s really not that bad since most of the hike is just straight flat walk. And we will do it without camping, so you won’t have to carry any camping gear, just your camera and tripod! That’s it. Most people probably won’t hike far and camp so I decided to change that “requirement”. It’s just now little bit of hiking, and in many cases we won’t hike at all.
Check this out. I just created this page: https://greg-art.com/patagonia-workshop/
