A few shots from a recent model test shoot. I typically use test shoots to experiment with lighting, styling, and editing. Lucky for me Xavier is always happy to help when I'm feeling inspired.
Canon 5D MKIII, Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 lens and a Canon EF 135mm f/2.8 Soft Focus lens (with soft focus disabled).
Excellent work Daniel, I really like the look you get with those desaturated images (though they're not quite black and white, are they? hard to tell on my monitor). The lighting and stark white background on the first and third images in particular are great.
There's always two things I look forward to when I look at your posts. Number one, your models look insanely good, and number two, your lighting and posing looks insanely good. You really should think about doing this for a living.
What a superb set, if he is not a fashion model now, he is well on the road… well done!
Regards,
Brian
Thank you so much Brian. He is indeed a professional fashion model. I met him through doing several test shoots with a modeling agency in my city over the last year, and he is one of a handful of great models that they have sent to test with me. Since the initial test shoot I did with Xavier we stayed in contact and have done a few collaborations since, including this one. Hopefully more to come.

Thank you!
They are indeed black and white. The topmost layer for those shots is a "Black and White" adjustment layer in Photoshop. It could be that you weren't in optimal viewing conditions, or your display might need to be calibrated.

Thank you so much Ron! It's been a slow process, but I think my "career" as a photographer is really picking up the pace over the last year. I have often struggled with the urge to quit and get a normal job, but sticking with this and not quitting has really been paying off lately.
