Update:
While the Sigma 23mm f/1.4 DC DN lens is currently available for Sony E and Leica L mounts, it will only be released for Fujifilm X mount this summer.
-------
The Sigma 23mm f/1.4 DC DN lens designed for APS-C sensors is set to be launched soon. A leaked image has surfaced today, providing a sneak peek into the lens specifications.
The lens is compatible with mounts for Leica L, Sony E, and Fujifilm X.

No aperture ring though.
Certainly, I would have preferred the aperture ring to be similar to the DG DN versions for full-frame cameras. However, it appears that Sigma wanted to maintain consistency in style and functionality for their DC DN line. This simplicity may have aided in keeping the price lower to compete with native Fuji lenses.
In my opinion, the important thing is that Sigma lenses are well constructed and feature quiet and efficient autofocus. There's no doubt that Sigma lenses deliver excellent image quality. I personally own the Sigma 56mm f/1.4 for the X-Pro3 and find that AF to be superior to the current Fuji offerings.

The XF WR version has set the bar at quite a high level. It will be interesting to see how it competes and the cost.
I completely agree. It's a close competition with the 23mm f/1.4 LM WR from Fuji, as both lenses are nearly the same size and weight, with the Fuji being slightly heavier and bigger. However, I hope that Sigma's price point will be significantly lower.

Nice option for Sony APSC users. I could see putting this on my A6400 for street photos.
The Samyang 24mm 1.8 is over 100 grams lighter and an excellent lens. Since noise is a non-issue these days (Topaz, DXO), I would much rather keep the crop kit as light as possible. It's also a full frame lens in case you use both full and crop.
I have no doubt the Sigma will be excellent, most of them are. But the Samyang seems an overall smarter choice for Sony users, imho.

Good point! I forgot about the Samyang. Dustin Abbott had high praise for that lens.

I shoot FF but still have an old Sony A6000 packed away somewhere which has not been used in 3 years. I am seriously thinking of buying this lens and using it on my apsc camera as a more discrete and less expensive street photography camera when traveling.

Aperture dial is a must for me. I'd rather have the Viltrox lenses over the Sigma if I'm trying to save money by getting a 3rd party lens. I have the viltrox 56mm that I picked up for 150 bucks and if it didn't have any markings I'd have no issues believing it's a Fuji lens. All metal construction and incredible IQ even wide open at 1.4.

I'm with VTXT, I will stick with my Viltrox for construction, price and image quality. Viltrox is the best value I have found for my Fuji cameras.
Despite the loud aperture blade noise and noticeable axial CA, I still believe that the Vitrox 23/1.4 is a great lens considering its price. However, I'm interested in comparing the new Sigma lens to the Fuji version.

Hmmmm, the Fuji XF 23mm f/2 R WR is $375 new from B&H and I feel like you can get it used for less pretty readily. Interested to see the comparisons given the difference in size and weight.

I have been scrutinizing one quick video of the lens and noticed some moderate focus breathing as well as some noticeable LoCa. Close focusing does not seem to be a strength either. Bokeh qualities seem nice though. Seems similar to the existing 30mm f/1.4.

Very useful on e mount, this will be a good addition.
On X mount I have more reservations. The 23/1.4 WR strikes me as one of the reasons to buy into the Fuji system — it's one of their best and most useful lenses. I guess this Sigma appeals to the more price sensitive folks. Third party lenses are more interesting to me when they offer something the first party lenses don't.
For example, I can understand picking the Sigma 56 over the Fuji. In addition to the lower price, it's also much smaller.

We also use the Sigma 56 with our XH2s. I have a function ‘wheel’ programmed to change the aperture. It works just fine.. 😉 I love the lens.
