I went to the Lofoten archipelago last week in a hastily self-organized trip at the last minute. It was simply breathtaking! Too short a trip, but that means I'll have to go there again next winter. This time with a drone. And I now have a better idea where the most beautiful off-the-beaten path locations are.
Still have hundreds of photos to process, but here's the first batch of them. All photos taken with the A7R IV + Tamron 17-28mm or 28-75mm lenses.

Great series, its on my list to visit one day.
Thanks for sharing,

Thanks! Don't hesitate to go. You don't need to be part of a photo tour group (although I'm sure that would enhance your experience). It's very easy to rent a car and travel independently, as I did with about a week of advance booking.
Great pictures! I kicked off my journey in photography in 2018 with a trip to Norway to visit Geirangerfjord, Trolltunga, and Preikestolen with my A6300, 10-18, and some Nikon kit lenses. That was when I fell in love with landscape photography.
I can’t wait to go back and check out Lofoten with my new gear and knowledge! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks. No workshop at that location for me. I would just dash over from Europe for a few days with my Wife or on my own.
Very nice! It remains one of my favourite trips. Not photographically as I feel I left a lot out there and I’d love to go back (maybe alone next time - hiking +camping) but I know my wife loved it there and even in late August (or maybe it September for my wife’s birthday) we saw utterly spectacular Aurora (it’s that far North).
We were there for 2 weeks and it was nowhere near long enough!
You’ve also reminded me I haven’t got any (oh maybe 3-4 on the home page) photos up on my website yet. Yet another job added to my every expanding To Do list. Sigh.
Great shots of one of my favorite places. We did a Vantage/Hurtigruten cruise of the Norwegian Fjords back in 2017 and thoroughly enjoyed everything we saw but Lofoten was extra special.

Thanks! But why the "but..."?

I missed the northern lights 3-4 nights in a row, including a spectacular show right outside the window of a cabin I stayed at one night. There's this darned thing called sleep. But I'd seen them in Iceland, so they weren't that high on my priority list. But I imagine this place is just as lovely (but in a different way and crowded) in summer. I hope to make it there this summer.
