p.1 #1 · Information needed on this old Canon Rangefinder

This was in my dad's collection and I'm just looking for some information. I would like to know the model name and the approximate years that this would have been made. I had a Canon 7 when I was in high school (early 1970's) I know it is older than that.

No thanks... I'm done with film.

My first job as a teenager in the summer of 1969 was working the lab at my grandfathers studio in Atlanta.

The shutter does still work on it but it sounds a little slow. It seems the Canon and I are around the same age with some of the same issues!

Yes, I believe you are correct as it does have 1/1000 shutter speed. I don't have a clue how my dad acquired it, I assume it was a gift from someone as he did not have it in my younger days.

So it is a few years older than me, I'm a 1954 model.
