I sold my Tamron 70-180 back in April 2022, and I've been covering 105-180mm with my Sigma 100-400 since then. I was thinking about re-buying another 70-180, but the guy I sold it to in April messaged me (just now) to let me know the zoom mechanism just broke and he's sending it in for service. I didn't get the specifics, but sounds like a definite weak spot. I think I'll pass on this lens going forward.
