Been a while since I`ve visited the forum let alone post any photos. But a couple of weeks ago I got a perfect oportunity to visit one of the iconic locations in Slovenia and that "woke" me up from my sleep and motivated me to get out there, shoot, process and post the photos.
So here are the images shot on a clear morning after the first days of snow in the mountains. In foreground is the Church of St.Thomas with snow covered Kamnik-Savinja Alps in the background. The bonus of course is the rolling fogg - the one that has at first frightened me as I came to the location because the church was burried in it so I wasn`t sure if I came to the right place

I do like them, however I prefer the 3rd here. Do you know if the church is still used?
Douglas
The main parish church is down in the valley so this one is not in regular use. I can say for the area where I live, these succursal churches are rarely used for mass so this one is probably in use on St.Thomas day and for food blessing on Holy Saturday...

What a beautiful setting! The third image is most sublime.
Thank you Rajan, I like the composition of the first better but the light and colors in 3rd are way better - tried to replicate them in the first image but couldn`t match them
Aleksander, these are beautifully executed images. I like the 3rd image with a splash of light on the church and fog really adds to the image. Well done and good to see you back posting. 👍🏻

Looks great, 1st and 3rd...
I would crop it to minimize the white part of the sky showing.
I see what you mean, but you can`t crop all off it unless you clip the mountains peak. Thanks for your thoughts.

I also prefer 3. It would have been a delight just to see this in the wild, so to speak.
I agree it was a delight - unfortunatelly I couldn`t come back in the afteroon to shoot the sunset. This church is perfectly located, from shooting location to the mountains is a straight south to north line, so the church is lit at sunrise as well as at sunset :-)

I too like Number 3 the best. Out of interest: would there have been a possible composition from further below, so that one could move the church in front of the dark forest/hill and have the mountain tower behind the church? I would have liked to see that and/or an even thighter composition. What focallenght were you at in picture 3?

You could go further bellow, but as I said as I first arrived the church was fully submerged in fog that is why I went higher up the hill, but not much maybe 100m? The 3rd shot was ~200mm.
