I've been spending each November in Haines, Alaska since 2009, and have been more than 450 days on the main river. That got me thinking, I've spent more than a year in this area.
This year I missed the migration as I spent a little more time in Iceland. I'm still catching up with images, and thought I'd share a few from last year with my Sony A1.
I'll be heading back to Alaska next November to get my eagle fix !
I always enjoy your eagle images and this set is no exception. The third is a beauty with the bands of color and texture. The background eagle's pose is rather unique yet I do get the feeling the one in the air is a thief. An eagle and a bear, now that's a great combination. Next is the eagle with it's wings in a position I associate with the bird being hot and trying to cool off yet the frosty background makes me wonder. The pair on the longs is a lovely photo of the couple. "Did I drop some on you?" makes me feel like I'm at the dinner table with the eagle. It's a superb image. I like the others as well yet the ones I called out are my top picks
Awesome set, Matt. Of course the conflict shots are great. But my favorites of the set are the first one with the slow shutter on the river and "just hanging out". As much as I love BIF images well done static shots of eagles just look so majestic/dignified. Well done.

Thanks for the feedback. It took me many tries to get the slower shutter speed.

Another excellent collection of your images from your trips to Alaska.
They are all great images but I like the first one a lot. The action shots are terrific too.
Thanks for posting them.
Eagles are certainly addictive. They are just so much fun to watch and photograph. This a great variety set. All great photos. I hope you are not suffering withdrawals from missing your eagle fix.

Thanks Dave ! Lots of action last year as there was a new sandbar and most of the action was in one spot.

Phil, I am having some withdrawals, but we have a few around here in Colorado for me to get my fix.
