Superb portrait, Derek. The soft light is very flattering and the expression seems natural and confident. I also like the hand position which helps to frame her face.
I have a library card but my wife has always been the one who goes to pick up books for us. That might have to change.
Cheers,
Brent
My only nit would be the texture on the left edge of the frame. It is in focus / sharp and pulls me just a kiss toward it.
Would look to soften that fabric to reduce its pull with texture and in juxtaposition of contrast to the softness of her finger. focus is falling off from her outward, then we have sharper again as the fabric contour moves in/out of plane.
Derek, You are an excellent photographer. in portrature(?). I am crap!
After looking at this initially on a laptop, I had some issues. On my 30" calibrated monitor....Wow!!!
She is beautiful and classy! A combo that can be debated for eternity!
Problem is I am 75..dare I display this in my "man cave"?
You members are of this caliber...DISPLAY then how best you can! They need to be seen!
Sometimes I think photography is too much like calling a football play.."Z right, Omaha V"...bla, bla bla....It works He caught the damn ball!!!...! Touchdown!

I actually have already tried to tone down that area, but perhaps some more is required. Thank you very much.
