My second visit to the Ah-Shi-Sle-Pah wilderness in northwest New Mexico. Was able to spend more time there than my first brief visit. On many of the hoodoos I tried to go low and take advantage of what cloud backdrop there was to the south. Would love to go back and explore it further at some point, feels like I've barely scratched the surface.
Fascinating place. Looks like a place you could spend countless hours in, getting lost!
All great. That fourth image, with the outstretched arm is amazing. But they all are!
What a fun place to explore and photograph! You have only scratched the surface of this amazing place. I have been there twice and each of the formations looked different due to the time of day and atmospheric conditions playing with shadows. Shooting low was a good strategy to capture the entire formation. Nice work.
Thank you all! Next time I visit, I'm hoping to find the so-called King of Wings and explore further.
On this same trip I did hit the Bisti badlands as well, but unfortunately didn't get as much time to explore there and get many good pictures. I suppose it balances out, because my last time in the area, I did more time at Bisti and less at Ah-Shi-Sle-Pah.
What a kool and trippy place, love all the pictures some some definitely stand out more than others.
Wish you were in some so we could get an idea of how big/small these are.

Oh I try to keep out of pictures as much as possible, my family hates it
As far as size, the hoodoos pictured are all at least six feet tall or more.
What a bizarre place, I must go there, I would fit right in. Your 1st shot actually looks like a rat head to me lol. #8 looks like something out of an Aliens movie. Each of these is wonderful thanks for sharing.

Oh yeah, #8 is definitely getting a large print to go behind the door for the guest room. Don't want people staying too long.
very unusual and scary landscapes. I would be scared wandering in there. These rocks are ready to fall on you any time. You did a good job capturing them.
