p.1 #1 · Just Birds, Kenya (Samburu and Naivasha), September 2022
My trip to Kenya was mainly to see and photograph Mammals, but I ended up with more bird pics than mammals, here are some of the bird pics from my trip in September.
For birding, Samburu was very special of all the places I visited and favorite from this trip Tawny Eagle with Dik-dik kill. Here I tried my best to name the birds, feel free to comment if I named incorrectly.
Thanks for checking, comments and suggestions are appreciated as always.

Shibu - a really wonderful set of images. If I may suggest the following amendments to the names-
Black Headed Ibis = African Sacred Ibis
Starling = Superb Starling
Eagle Owls = Verraux's Eagle Owl

1, 6 and 7 are favorites. Then I lost count as the titles don't' show when I have to drill in and run the slide show. The first has the stay away, it's mine look.

Your recent trip to Africa turned out to be similar to mine. We both focused more on capturing larger wildlife but ended up doing some bird photography, as well. Your exposure to bird seemed to be more often and more varied than what I experienced though. Good for you and they resulted in those wonderful images, Shibu! BTW, did you bring your 600mm lens on that trip?

Very envious of the images.

Thanks Peter, really appreciated the comments with correct bird names.

Thanks Joshua, there were lot of birds in Samburu, Naivasha, Mara and Nakuru.
Yes, I did take 600mm, other lens I used quite often there was the 70-200-ii, between those two lenses I was able to do more than 99% of my total images.

Shibu this a great set of images. My trip a few years ago to Tanzania produced more mammals than birds and we saw many of the birds in your images, but I got none of the high quality captures that you got. Travelling these days with a 600 is really difficult especially when you have small hopper flights. I took a 500 F4, but honestly the quality of the images with that lens always seemed to have issues with heat waves. Most of my stuff was at 400 mm. I would love to go again.

Thanks Dave, I was surprised with variety of birds I saw, these are just less than third of I saw there and didn't include any birds from Mara, Nakuru and Amboseli.
It 's great if you can take a quality lens for Africa, but I don't know I want to do next time due to carrying and handling.

Shibu .....an exhilarating set of images no matter what you went to photograph you came home with multiple prizes of the subjects. Very nice presentation on the processing. I'm giving you my vote, you earned it sir!
If you wanted anything to think about, #9 could make for a nice vertical or a little less area on the right. #11 could be an interesting comp it you went tight on the left and gave room to the right perhaps? #14 perhaps is a big crop, just showing some artifacting in the lower area and has less detail than your other subjects, could also have been a huge influence from heat? None of these comments are to take away from the excellence in your presentation, just pushing you outside the box a little

Thanks Karl, appreciate the feedback. Actually #9 my first action was a vertical crop, then I thought to include little bit of surroundings too. #14 is not much cropped, it is the heat haze.
