So I was this past weekend visiting/driving around the Canadian Rockies, looking for the fall colors. Unfortunately the place is not looking as nearly as good as it did last year. Abnormal weather and prolonging heat this years made trees "confused" I guess, and they stayed green for much longer than last year. Don't get me wrong I've got some colors but barely. Some of the best looking trees I was hoping to shoot are actually leafless already. That's another problems I've ran into - leaves are either green or gone. I guess sudden drop in temp and frost just kills them and they quickly turn brown and drop dead. Those on the trees, still green, are damaged with lots of brown spots, looking horrible. There's no transition from green to yellow and/or orange/red.
So, I didn't get what I wanted with maybe exceptions of those few below, which in my opinion are OK, but nothing I would print large, trying to sell at the festival I exhibit each summer.
I'll be driving around Colorado this coming weekend with hope I'll get a few good shots worth printing. I know CO is already properly "cooked" or starting to be at higher elevation.
Very nice captures Gregg! I am partial to number 2 and 4 for what it's worth. Two because of its originality, and 4 for its color and vibrancy.

Mike. Yes, not many options when it comes to hotels in the area but you can still find one or just camp (my two friends drove from California and camped there). I checked your content and it looks good. When did you visit the area? Was it this year?

Yes, about a week ago, with a long stop at Lake O'Hara. That hotel is just kind of surreal. No cell signal and the only wifi is in the bar. And the $30 dollar hamburger...
Strength in simplicity #2. I like the contrast and the tonal quality on the bark.
The water color is shocking and a beautiful pastel offering, works nicely in the first.
Wow, that view Gregg in #4 just sits me down to enjoy, that sir is a beauty IMO.
