Several Atlantic Puffin colonies breed on the sea stacks found along the coast of Newfoundland. A trip in August to capture Puffins and Northern Gannets provided great opportunities to see these fast and colorful birds.

Absolutely stunning images. Those Puffins are knockout lookers and you really got some great isolation and coloring. The first image is caricature-like looking and super sweet! Wonderful presentation on #2, that light and subtle detail in shadows is priceless. Solo perched image is beautiful and has great layers of depth. What a great capture with the gull chasing down the dropped offerings. The fox image is really charming, such nice light and hard to believe how good an ISO that high can look, nice job on that file.

Can you tell I enjoyed these

Thanks for your observations Karl. Topaz and minimal cropping on the high ISO fox made it work.

Great looking set. I hope they have survived the storm

Agree Morris. Avian flu was also an issue in Newfoundland this summer. It wreaked havoc at the Northern Gannet rookery located elsewhere on the island.

Very glad I took the time to look through this set! Great stuff.
The backlit flight shot final image is very unique - what a capture!

Thanks Bruce. I was excited to get something other than the typical daylight shots.
