Many years ago, I obviously was close to a nest that I did not see , as I saw the poor dear killdeer do the broken wing distraction. I felt so badly having disturbed her keeping her eggs warm that I did not go back to the area. I have to really admire the tenacity and bravery these little ones display trying to protect their babies.
Really interesting set and photographed beautifully, but my heart still goes out to the poor adult getting frightened enough to try and lure you away. Glad you were able to have them get use to your presence.
