Another favorite subject. Recent shots from a couple different days and lighting conditions. None have been posted in the Nature & Wildlife board before.
1. Distinctive mane
2. Kerplunk
3. Only time I've seen one catch something from the flatfish family.
4. Common pose for reddish and snowy egrets
5. On the move
6. Preening
7. On the move II
8. Ready to strike
9. Another catch
I restrained myself to a few less images this time based on previous feedback
These are all superb images!
I particularly like the first and last images.
The subject definition and background/foreground separation is outstanding.
Got my vote.

Thanks everyone!
A couple people have commented on the foreground/background/subject separation. It is almost all due to the angle. Most of these were shot with the lens hood almost in the water. It is 95% the angle, 5% fast glass. Lining up a close subject, distant background and shooting from millimeters above the water. Could get really similar results with a slow zoom or a fast prime in these situations. One of these was shot with a slow zoom.

What a beautiful set. The light is magical. #1 & #8 are really special. My body hurts looking at the pose in #5. What a beautiful bird.

Thanks. I posted the fish flip from the sequence somewhere in another thread so didn't want to repost it in this one.

This is mastery of the craft. Really excellent stuff. The low POV makes such a difference and this set is a master class in that regard. Well done.
I agree that the low POV turns normal egret pictures into something better.
