A really good composition, though I would have not included the stumps at the bottom of the image. I really like the shutter speed that you used to smooth out the water flow. A really beautiful scene!
Thank you guys for the comments!
I will work a little on the raw tonight to see if I can get rid of the stumps (already sent two people in the bridge to the lost dimension)
I actually prefer the stumps ;-). A great shot with excellent composition and exposure. You have captured the entire dynamic range very well, without making it HDRy (for the lack of a better term). The light hitting the clouds and the colors on the mountain and foreground are gorgeous. thanks for sharing
Thanks for the nice comments!
Yes, I don't "like" HDR (YMMV), I used an ND filter, plus a polarizer to compensate for the difference in light from the mountain to the falls ...
Note to self: next time, wear long sleeves and long pants, mosquitos are the real danger at Mt Rainier
I camped near there in a dozen feet of snow last Jan.
Brave man!
the highest/coldest I have camped was in the ancient bristlecone pine forest in CA, at night it got to 23 degrees and windy ...
Yes, I "discovered" Rainier, gotta go back before the eruption ...
Great work with wonderful light. I agree on trying to remove the stumps. It was nice of the park service to remove the trees to give us this view, but not sure why they left stumps like that.
