Phoenix landscape gets really interesting during Haboob / Dust storm / Monsoon season.

I have taken this very same photograph/composition multiple times. There is some character when the storm clouds roll in with the cholla / jumping cactus around.

Great photo! Did you do much post-editing? Love how the composition just leads straight up to the sky.

Not much post processing. I used a ND 10 stop filter to get the clouds kinda flowing (10 second exposure).

Lightroom:

1. masked the sky to bring down exposure , add positive dehaze and reduce texture
2. Front cactus dodged it a bit.

Not a fan of long exposure clouds, but I love this image. Very well composed with a complementary colour palette.

Thank you Rajan. I usually don't do long exposure clouds, but the storm clouds, kinda emphasized the eerie feeling.

Them little prickly cacti really stand out and the overall image looks spooky.

Really nice drama in the background and a certain liveliness in the foreground. The contrast of the two is really entertaining, great comp and image!

Thank you Mary. It is a wide angle shot (12mm) pointed slightly towards the cholla cactus to get that view
