Great set Derrick, thanks for sharing! The first image is my favorite, a gorgeous perfectly-composed fine art photograph that greatly intrigues me. You got my vote this week.
Cheers Ross, appreciate the kind words. The first image is the kind of image that most people make from this location. There are only a handful of dunes with the striking red deposits, and for good reason, everyone is drawn to them.

These images are a delight to see, especially since that whole area was inside the burn zone of the Dixie Fire.
Love the fog especially!
How was the fire damage around the area?
Hi Kurt. Thanks for commenting and sharing your thoughts. The fire damage was clearly evident in the forests around the Cinder cone and the campground. I imagine it will take decades for regrowth to occur in some of these areas given the nature of the environment. Fortunately the conifers in the dunes were untouched. Too sparse to carry a burn I guess.

Unreal conditions. Fog in the dunes is next level. Great job waiting it out!
Cheers Aaron. Thanks for the comment. Glad you are still checking in and keeping in touch.
