I don't recall at this time, but when all of this was going on, I delved into their policies and from what I could tell, there was no reason why it should have taken so long. I ended up escalating the case and after communicating with someone higher up, the refund was issued promptly. It took several attempts though. The first people that I communicated with seemed to be limited on both knowledge and what they were allowed to do. The line was to wait another day or few days, repeat. Good luck with this. You may have to bug them and request an escalation to get your refund sooner rather than later. ...Show more →

Pretty much the case with most support across the board theses days. There are some exceptions, but far and few between though
The reason it is taking so long is Amazon is going to examine the item. So many purchase items and return a rock. Another thing people should be aware of is getting a refund and then they charge you back again saying they never received it . I call and say how did you not receive it you issued the refund based on a scan of return label. Then I give them tracking # showing they received it. So they refund again but tell me that no one evered scanned it in received which is BS. Also I like how two day prime delivery can Take up to a week. There in house delivery is awful. I was emailed a delivery made at my house and nothing was there . So I looked up the delivery on the website because I always see a picture of it on my front door no photo. I called them told me to wait 2 days and they dont have to take a picture so why bother (it was an expensive pair of Sneakers) so after two days and called and they would not refund me because the GPS showed them being at my house. Guess what 3rd day a neighbor 5 blocks away said she received it and delivered to me.
Something else to be aware of: 3rd party seller return policies. I decided to return a used/refurbed lens near the end of the 30day return window. Got hit with a 10% restocking fee. Turns out the 3rd party only offered a 14 day return period, but that was NOT made clear when I bought the lens. I took it up with Amazon's customer service, no help, they just passed it back to the seller.
No more more 3rd party gear from Amazon for me. I'll stick with the tried & true, B&H, Adorama, KEH...etc.
Amazon just laid off a shipload of people and is the worst managed company on the planet. Of course they are hanging on to your money. They are having a Kodak Moment right now!
