@morris .. there are insects there to feed on, maybe
@n.v.m. .. yes, someone on FM sells a custom, short hood, so I leave the original hood in the lens case

The Sony 600 has some kind of magic filter that turns harsh sunlight into this ... making the lighting look beautiful
It's actually harsh sunlight as the photo of me/car shows.
Wonder if the drop-in filter does this as Arbitrage or someone else mentioned it has a yellow tint
