p.2 #2 · RF 24-105L vs RF 24-240 How much better is the L?
I have the 24-240. I do not have the RF 24-105L but do have the EF 24-105L. I only shoot RAW. I love the 24-240. It is another tool in the camera bag, not a replacement for other lens. It is a great travel lens. A compact lens that gives you 240. Any issues are corrected automatically in post processing. Another benefit, I recently attended a MLB baseball game where the rules were the lens could not be longer than the length of the camera body. I managed to get some great shots with this compact lens. Is it better than my L lens, no, but it is a great tool where you need a compact lens with reach.
It isn't all that far off from the RF 24-105mmL over its range. At 104mm it is just a stop slower. Even at 105-240mm it is only 1.5 stops behind the L lens at 104mm. I have used this lens A LOT for almost two years. Doing so has been a pleasure and the results I still find fantastic for lens with its focal range. Plus, this lens will work incredibly well on an R7 (if it actually materializes) considering its center sharpness, fast AF and excellent IS.
