Just a few random Eagle shots. It is the Shad run so the Eagles are at the Dam for about 4-6 weeks so I spend a lot of time with them as the next big influx of non resident Eagles won't be till November. So, sorry if it's a lor of Eagles right now. Osprey images will be coming in a couple weeks though!
This Eagle fished just 50 feet in front of me. Making lemonade from lemons

Thanks for the nice eye candy George, Luke, Bruce, Eric, Lance and others I may have missed.
Before the latest firmware update I had come to the conclusion that the 1.4 on this lens was not going to cut it for action/bif. I am just back from a trip out west and the 800 was a great bird travel lens. The last day I decided to try the 1.4/800 combo on some swallows and I was pleasantly surprised on how well the af and tracking did. For me it seems the latest firmware update actually made a noticeable improvement to an already good AF system. I was able to track swallows that were small in the frame AND swallows flying straight at me which is crazy good considering how fast they are.
Kudos to Nikon for a great lens and camera body in the Z9 with the updates. Looking forward to a smaller form factor body that will compliment the Z9.

Z9 / 800 6.3 - W/ 1.4 TC. Cloudy that morning. Images would have been cleaner had there been more light. I am still impressed with the performance of this combo. All were pretty heavy crops.
