Wow... what an amazing series of images.
The tropics are mind-blowing because the birds are so striking with their amazing color variations.
The "cream-colored" woodpecker is beyond beautiful with all of those yellow feathers and tiny beak... Image 5 is a real beauty.
Voted... Bravo!

These woodpeckers are drop-dead gorgeous! Such a joy to see them on this bleak rainy morning up here...
Vladimir, thank you very much! I am glad that you like the images.
Incredible set Joshua. I haven't seen any of these woodpeckers before so thank you for sharing. As you noted, the positioning you had while taking these images makes for an excellent perspective.

How much wood can a woodpecker peck? Answer in images 11 and 12. Enjoyable eye candies, Joshua!
Thank you very much, Bobby!

wow, awesome stuff. was there a lot of hiking to get to these birds?
Thank you very much, n.v.m.! Except for one, which the shortest, the observation towers are reachable by boat/canoe. In average the hiking part from the stop takes about 20 minutes on mostly muddy paths. The tallest tower is about 200 feet straight up. Depending on your fitness level, it may take you somewhere between 5 and 20 minutes.

I've seen the Yellow-tufted and the Golden Olive is a yard bird here but the others are new for me and stunning as well as beautifully photographed.
Thank you very much, Pitter! I can imagine that there are quite a bit similarities in bird population between Ecuador and Columbia.

Amazing series, Joshua
I really enjoyed looking at your pictures. If I was younger and in better health, I would definitely try to visit exotic birding places like this.
Thank you for sharing

Thank you very much, Dan! That would be it for me to go on an adventure like this. I am not the youngest either...

Beautiful set, of amazing subjects. Hopefully sometime I will be able to make a pilgrimage to such an area.
Thank you very much for your kind words, Tim! Ecuador is definitely doable and virtually no jet lag from the trip.
