And one with the Minolta MD 300/4.5 and 2x (non-APO), a combination I do not recommend beyond 10M. Or really at all. There are better combinations to get to 600.

A 50mm Summarit. Marvellous. I often think that these older lenses can be particularly good for B&W.
Yes, one of my favorite lenses. It lets in light in a special way, with lots of different gray tones. The lens works really well with the M11, and the M11M might be perfect for it.
Leica 50 mm summicron F2 collapsible with Thorium (radioactive) glass, a 1954 build lens with a Leica M11 EV1. The stalk of this Agave rises in a few weeks to 15 feet or more in height, the plant will flower shortly, and then die, the Agave plant grows for a decade or more before it flowers this once, a Spring time event in the Sonoran desert. Agave are quite common so only a small fraction flower in a given year.
Very nice image! It seems to me that it would be a difficult image to capture. Apart from being able to "see" that it is there to be taken, which is the art and talent of the particular photographer, there is the difficulty of taking a candid shot of an apparent stranger at close range.
Would you be willing to share the way in which you managed to get this shot? For example, did you lift the camera to your eye, or shoot from the chest? Did you avoid looking at the man as you took the shot? In other words, how did you manage to get this image? I would be very interested to know--the more detail the better.
Zone focus and shot from a low angle. ISO 1600, 1/1000, f/9.5
I shoot with the same camera and lens almost all the time so I have gotten to a point where I kinda know what the camera and lens will be capturing without having to look. I was hoping that strong diagonal line would hit where it did. So some luck involved also.

It is an excellent, unusual shot. So often a candid of people on the street does not come togehter in a meaningful and visually coherent way.
