Thank you very much, Gary! That happened after Luz left 5-10 minutes earlier, remember?
I do remember Joshua You have many more keepers from that series but your #9 is virtually identical in camera angle and subject positioning to a shot that I have. It's been very interesting for me to compare them side by side as we were sitting right next to each other and using almost exactly the same focal length.

Exemplary sequence. Thanks for sharing it.
Interesting that the crayfish chose fight over flight when it had the chance to escape.
Its last thought: "Nobody told me this was a tag-team match!"
Thank you for your kind comment, Elvis! Crayfish is not an active underwater swimmer. It mostly crawls on the bottom. They can hide a little bit in the bottom sediment but mergansers, on the other hand, are excellent underwater swimmer. They dive and they scour the bottom sediment and do so methodically. The chance of escaping once caught for the crayfish is very slim. And judging by the size, the crayfish was a formidable opponent and the whole situation could have turned ugly for the first merganser had that not been for her buddy that rushed to help.
I like your rendition of the crayfish’s last thought .

Wow ! Stunning captured set in sequence , Joshua ! That crayfish borders on being classified as a lobster based on size ...Lol
I greatly appreciate your kind words, Tom! And you are correct about the size of the crayfish. Their colors vary widely and this particular one is definitely red, and actually bright red at that.
