p.1 #1 · Exploring Watson Lake in Arizona’s Granite Dells
Congratulations to Ross Martin for winning Feature Thread of the Week with 7 votes - View Previous Winners
My first time ever in this area three days ago and it was fascinating! Wandered around the wonderfully eroded granite boulders finding a variety of compositions, and one evening especially the blues, pinks, and purples reflecting from a dusk sky were lovely. Hope you enjoy these views, and thanks for looking!
Cheers,
Ross

Truly beautiful compositions, Ross! The first and the third image are my favorites. I love how you included the distant snow capped mountain peak in the first image, along with the upper atmosphere. Very well balanced. The third image is amazing with the trees growing up out of the rock, all surrounded by water. The abstracts are gorgeous, too! A most wonderful collection!!!

Great set! Beautiful color and forms.
My house was less than a mile from Watson Lake and I used to walk there several days a week. The change in appearance during the year is amazing as the water level rises and falls.
Your first image is in exactly the same direction as my series, https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1744489 capturing the Granite Dells, the mountains east of Prescott Valley and the San Francisco Peaks.

Great shots! 3 and 5 are my favorites. I saw another FMer post about this place several years ago, and managed to stop by while on a road trip for some sunrise shots. Unfortunately I also had a multi-day case of the explosive runs at the time too, so it was a short photo session.

Nice! Had I known you would be here I would have directed you to another area at Watson Lake. Peavine Trail on the opposite side of where you were.
And we have a memorial bench where you were for my mom. Which is hard to miss! She has a nice "view" of Watson, Glassford Hill (extinct volcano that was involved with the geology here), and the San Francisco Peaks.
