Hey All,
Here are few shots from my recent "close to home" trips.
First shot probably needs to introduction. It's the famous Firefall in the Yosemite NP Mr. Galen Rowell made it famous. I shot it two days ago. Yes, the place was quite crowded but not too bad at all (like everyone was telling me, or scaring me rather) and I was able to find great spot to shoot it from. February 21st is the best time to shoot it when the light will only illuminate the waterfall. So if you heading up there on 21st, you may want to be there early.
Second shot if from Lake Tahoe. I was impressed with the rock alignment and gradient blue-to-white hues of water that I was able to see/capture early in the morning, before sunrise.
Tree and, what I call, a Rainbow shot are both taken in the Yosemite NP early in the morning little after sunrise. I was driving around looking for my spot to shoot the Firefall from, and my eye caught both locations/images.
Next up is a close up of the Firefall. I zoomed in my 100-400 with 1.4TC to 560mm and shot the brightest area of the Firefall. To me it looked like the light was coming out of the wall, not the other way around.
The last image I've shot in Cape disappointment, Washington. I didn't have the biggest waves but I liked the lighthouse and smaller waves anyway. I enhanced the light a little bit. It was there but not as intense and visible.
Very beautiful series, Gregg! The last three are my favorite. It is great that you captured the light beam from the lighthouse and the light pouring out of the crevice from the 4th image is stunning. I can feel a large print coming on this one.
Nice set of photos Greg! The first photo might be a total cliché, icon, etc., but it would still be cool to see sometime. That said, yours is a great photo of it. The glow is strong, the detail is great, nice work!
