When I was shooting these images, I could barely see the bird. It was very hard to get focus. Once I got it, I didn't move it. I just kept shooting hoping the eye would stay focused. Getting the white balance is a guessing game. In this series, I went blue. The first few images were "overexposed," I thought due to the flip screen on bright. So, I toned the rest of the images down and thus under exposed them by accident. The first image is uncropped and darkened to match the other three. I zoomed in more for the last three and cropped them a little.
Thanks for looking.
Rex
I added a few more images at different brightness and color balance.

Nice set Rex. How do you feel about making them a bit brighter?
Morris
Thanks, Morris. I debated about that. My 1st image shot out of the camera is shown here unprocessed, auto white balance at 100% crop. It's not very noisy for 10,000 ISO. The other images, I underexposed, not on purpose, so I had to fight the noise. These are shown as if daylight. Lighter at your request.

Cute little guy. The bird's pupils tell the story of how dark it was. Love the water drops on the head.
Thanks for commenting, Dan. Yes it was dark. I could barely see a silhouette.

Great series Rex. The only view of this species I have ever had was a face in a nest box or tree crevice. Great job getting sharp shots with those long exposure times. Well done.
Nice capture! Would like to see one one day. FWIW I prefer your original processing. If you are shooting an animal in near dark, the image should look at least a little dark IMO.
