To me the Larch Tree is the coolest of them all. It's green like other evergreens for 11 months out of the year. But in the fall, it turns golden/yellow just before it loses all of it's needles and starts over. I'd really wanted to see them in their splendor and finally timed it right and made the 9 mile trek to Lake Colchuck. Conditions were changing so quickly with the clouds moving in and out which caused me to clip some highlights in the first shot (guess I'll have to go back, ) but I was pretty happy with what I came away with.
