This pair of peregrine falcons was really in the mood… I took some 90 sequential images at a medium frame rate and left out quite a bit from the middle part.
I minimize my comment here and let the pictures tell the story .
Thank you for stopping by and please feel free to leave any feedback.
I made a GIF file out of a different sequence here: https://pbase.com/ageojo/image/172066932. For whatever reasons I couldn’t get it to show here unless you click on the link. There are over 190 frames in this sequence and the GIF file consists of 55 frames. Thank you, K-H. @k-h.a.w!

Congratulations Joshua for an absolutely sublime set.
Stunning action and expertly captured.
The gif animation is a real treat.

fantastic! Did you just mash the shutter at 20 fps so this is about 10 seconds of action?
Thank you very much, Photonoclast! There are some 90 frames in total and I did it at 10 fps. Yes, it was over in less than 10 seconds. There are 190+ frames in total for the other sequence but only 55 were used to put together the GIF.

Thank you very much, Karl-Heinz! I tried a few times but too bad, I couldn’t get the GIF animation to play right automatically… . Oh, well.
Thanks Joshua for the valiant effort.
I hope you don't mind that I include your gif animation here.
Please let me know if I should remove it.

The GIF sums up the action quite nicely.
For me I like the clarity of the stills.
To me they are the quality one would expect from a studio session.
Very nice.

I agree. The stills and animation complement each other nicely.

Excellent behavioral sequence Joshua. Why did you add the feeding image to it?
Morris
Thank you very much, Morris! Shortly after they mated, the male brought back a kill to her and apparently she worked up an appetite by then. So, I included a frame out of the female feeding sequence, which actually consisted of 60-70 images or so.
