I've tried to find an image thread for the RF version of 85mm and couldn't find any.
I was hoping to keep this thread an 85mm f/1.2L non defocus smoothing (DS) only but perhaps a few of you may sneak some in?
Here are some shots with the R5 and RF85f1.2 I did together with a dancer at the national (Norwegian) ballet this summer. Lovely lens and a lovely model.
The RF 85mm 1.2 is heavy enough that I considered selling to re-acquire the EF version again, and put the extra cash toward another body or something. But the wedding I photographed for this last weekend fully convinced me to keep the RF lens for the long haul.

Nice shot!
It's not even worth going back to the EF version (slow AF, CA, softer, etc)... Unless you're talking about the 85/1.4 version.

Anyone done a comparison between the RF85 f/1.2 and the EF85 f/1.2 V2
Not directly, but I've owned both lenses and I can tell you the RF is massively superior. Completely different league.
Razor sharp optics at F1.2, little to no CA, fairly uniform across the frame, and can track a moving subject easily. The EF 85/1.2 fails hard in pretty much all of those aspects.
Drawbacks? Besides the price, the RF 85 is comically large. It's "oh my god are you serious??" kind of big. Honestly its a lens I hate having in my camera bag, but man the images redeem it.

Thanks for sharing, it's good to hear your experience. Do you mean the 85 EF also tracks badly when adapted to an RF camera, or was shoddy on an EF body?
I don't use it as much as before, but there was a point when I almost exclusively shot with the 85L II. It was pretty much [single] spot focus and pop/click. Anything else (especially AI servo) was futile.

The EF 85/1.4 L has pretty good AF. The EF 85/1.2 (I or II) are both very inconsistent and slow. I've never used them on an RF body, but on DSLRs I considered this lens a "still subject" only lens. If the subject was moving at all, just forget it.

Elijah's pics convinced me to get the 58 1.4 when I was shooting Nikon, and now that I moved to Canon, he's presenting a great case to get the 85
What an honor GET IT!!! YOU KNOW YOU WANT IT!

I had issues with focusing on the 85/1.4 L. I don't know if its was MY 5D4's or what, the AF was inconsistent.
Ever since I moved to R6's, I never had AF issues with any of my lenses anymore. What a relief.
