This was a test shot I took earlier this week while getting my lighting set up for a job. It wasn't a portrait shoot, but I always try shooting some portraits before the shoot to test the lighting if one of the models is interesting looking.
For lighting I used two strobes, both with parabolic umbrellas attached, a silver reflector and a white V-flat. Photographed using an original Canon 5D with a Canon 85mm f/1.8 lens attached.
Good work, Daniel. Interesting that you chose for the background a hue close to his skin tone. Imparts an almost monochromatic look (ignoring the patterns in the shirt).

Somehow the image renders like an older color photo from the ‘70s that has faded a little. I am not saying anything bad but that’s how that image reminds me of, that retro look. Otherwise, well-captured image, Daniel!

Thank you. I don't see it as a bad thing either, as the editing was very intentional.
Did you supply the robe, and if so, why that pattern?
There is something unnautural and creepy about redheads. The rest of the color spectrum avoids them. Pale skin with red spots as if they had more dna of cats than humans.

Thank you. I did not. The silk was provided by Sarah Donofrio and a hair studio called Gilded Fox. They are collaborating on a silk line of hair care products and hired me to photograph them. This was just a lighting test shot that turned into a portrait that I liked.
