I would love to see more pics with the 150-500. I ended up picking up the (excellent) Sony 200-600 but am looking for something physically smaller to travel with and considering this lens...

I love it for it`s size/weight, if it could take TC`s I would never even think about any other telephoto lens, but as it doesn`t I am still dreaming of the 200-600 + 1,4TC
Luckily I`m broke and so I don`t have to sleep on the couch

I would have to agree that this is a fantastic option for some. My only issue is that I like to shoot soccer (college and high school) and this lens would be just a bit slower and shorter reach than the 200-600. I think each lens has it's place. Just wish I could afford the 600 F4 for soccer ... I would need a second body if I did for closer range shots ... so more $$ down the proverbial drain.
I bought this lens for my "long-distance" purposes and because with any other option, Sony 200 600, or Sigma 150 600 the size would be a big limit to me.
Compared to 100 400 lenses, I see a different behaviour; this lens is a stellar performer (to my eyes on a big mpx) at the long end and not at the shortest.
Just bought one through Greentoe. I guess I left money on the table as I bid 1200 and had it accepted within 3 minutes. 200-600 on the a1, this will go on the a9.
Just bought mine after debating between this Tamron and a 100-400mm for my newly acquired (although used) Olympus EM1 Mk III. I love the IQ of this Tamron and the reach is more than enough for what I wanted but not sure if I can handle the weight! I used it for a couple of hours on a hike and my shoulder was sore afterward.
After days of reading, watching video and handling the lens along with the Sigma sport in the local camera shop, I bought one. The $1199 sale price finished me off. I decided that I wanted to sling it over my shoulder like I did my now sold Sigma 100-400 DG DN, and I generally hand hold. I feel the IQ is much improved over my previous lens. I really haven't had the chance to test out the AF on BIF, and my 2 A7riii's are not going to be the best choice to do that, but they do allow me plenty of room to crop and gain more FL.
Here are a couple from my 2nd outing, which was at the St. Louis zoo. The leopard was behind rope and across a large moat.
The last is my Girlfriends Granddaughter for environmental portrait purposes.
To my eyes, this is one very well corrected lens. Not as good as my Sigma 135 in that regard, but better than my 70-180.
