These are lovely. I love the subtle attention to detail. The skin tone is wonderful, which can be a challenge with the 5D series and their tendency to render skin tones on the red side.
The 85mm 1.8 is a wonderful lens that does not get the credit it deserves.
On #1 there are some green tones reflected on some areas from the foliage canopy - no big deal (a ColorChecker custom location profile might help if you were so inclined) - it just pops a little less than #2 with that awesome red/green contrast combo! Very well done. The color is spot on.
Very nice lighting and attractive model with great natural lighting. #1 is cropped a tad too much and should show more to the left. #2 is my fav. You do well with the older 5D. Keep clicking.

Thank you. I agree a looser crop would look great, but I also love the intimacy of a close-in crop as well. Thanks for commenting.

Thank you so much! The original 5D seems to render really great skin tones for me, but yes they always need a little bit of tweaking to get them to be perfect. Also yes, I absolutely love my 85 1.8. It's an excellent lens, although sadly I don't use it nearly as much anymore after adding a 100mm f/2.8 macro to my gear bag.

She's beautiful! I just wish you showed more of her! I love looking at your images also! Very inspiring, and thanks for sharing.
Thank you. I guess in more recent years my style has been very focused on the faces of the people I photograph.
I did however take this photo of her at another time that technically shows more of her body, granted she is wearing makeup and my retouching on this photo was more heavy-handed.
