Spent Sunday morning at Bempton Cliffs hoping to get some shots of the Puffins, the weather wasn't pleasant being very windy and cold, the Rayauds in my hands was giving me grief .
I normally use my Nikon D850 200-500 here and it copes well , a little slow to grab but the shots it grabs are always sharp to my eyes . I tried with the A9ii 200-600 but was often running out of MP's , the Puffins are usually quite far out . This time I tried the A1 , it seemed to be grabbing as well as the A9ii . The extra MP's helped but I'm still not sure about my 200-600 , I'm finding quite a lot of BIF shots when used with my A9ii or A1 a little off , I know the lens is sharp especially for perched . Still trying to get used to the Sony , anyway had fun
Fairly unscathed although he scurried off without me getting a single pic of him. Dad was dive bombing him as he departed. I thought the kestrels may do some more damage to the squirrel but they didn't do much other than swoop at it. The big tussle happened inside the nest which I couldn't see.
The fox kit at ISO 8000 was processed per normal with Topaz. Was really impressed how clean that came out. I will not hesitate to go to 8000 in the future if the situation requires it
