You guys are making the 300 GM look really tempting.
Finally had time to cull through more of my 5000 reddish shots from last weekend. I had way too many shots with clipped wings. They were too close and I couldn't back up. Tough to keep them in the frame shooting off the flip screen.

Just got back from 2 weeks in Florida last week, what an experience being there through two hurricanes. Feel so sorry for those severely affected by the devastation these two hurricanes brought on folks. In spite of the adverse weather, I was still able to get out and do some shooting.

Excellent, Robert! Great capture of the F-22 making clouds. Is 600mm long enough for these? Where were you shooting from? I got to try the fleet week in SF one of these days. They look amazing with the Goldengate Bridge in the background.

Thx Douglas!
I was shooting from the end of a pier at Fort Mason. I would say 600m is adequate for that particular location. Of course, for some of the high altitude maneuvers, you wish for a bit more focal length. But then it might be too long for the low altitude passes.
I brought the 300/w TC's on one body and a 100-400 on the other. But I've used only the 200-600 on previous years with no problems
You should definitely come one of these years! And yes, you can get some unique shots with either the Golden Gate Bridge or Alcatraz in the background

That last shot is top shelf! I wonder how the jet got into that position? It didn't fly under the bridge, did it??
I don’t believe the aircraft are allowed to fly under the bridge like the movie “The Rock” 😄
It would make for a great photo op if they could though!
I also don’t think they’re allowed to fly in between the towers either for safety reasons. As the bridge remains open to traffic during the show.
They usually fly right over the south point right where the bridge connects to land. And then they drop down to the deck for things like the famous Blue Angel sneak pass
With an atmospheric river slamming the island I wasn't planning to shoot anything this weekend. But arrived home to see this guy/gal out in the yard shaking off some of the rain. I'll take it.
