Same...I used it for 15mins and there was really no reason to but I felt bad for it
For the stuff I have shot in the last 4, 5 months, there wasn't really a need for the 600 GM, which I use with a 1.4TC 95% of the time when I use it. I took the 600 GM for a spin two weeks ago to shoot ibises and herons.
I just sent the 300GM back yesterday after using it for a week as a loaner from Sony, I think I'm sold on getting one. Aside from the weight, it is so versatile in accepting TC's, it will cover a good share of the shooting I do. Headed to Florida in a few weeks and the 300GM would sure pack nicely.

I'm actually considering getting rid of my 600GM and purchasing a 300GM. I rarely need more than 600mm. Just a bit hard to sell gear in Toronto.
edit: Although Ive just seen a rumour about a new 400GM in 2025. Going to need the Biotech sector to keep chugging along through next year
Tomorrow I am going to a small airshow near Pittsburgh. I will bring the 600 GM+1.4TC on one A1 and the 300 GM+2X TC on another A1. Depending on how far the planes are away, I will choose a setup accordingly.
Good luck with your biotech stocks!

I couldn't believe I saw one for sale on B&S last week for $5200 (I think). In April I met a guy with U.K. at Stick Marsh shooting spoonbills with an A1 and the 300 GM+2x TC. That combo sure is great for traveling.

Beautiful water level shots! The water seemed so calm.
Nothing much, just some hummers from my yard yesterday. The males have been very elusive this year.
Thanks! I am a snob for water level shots of wading birds. I think I picked it up on the boards here and can't unsee it now. It gets better backgrounds, hides the muddy banks, hides the trash in the water, and gives a better overall look than looking down on the subject.
My goal for next year is to have a hummingbird garden. Jealous of yours.
Everyone on this board are making the 300GM look really tempting
