Cool. Mine is different from everyone else's in that I have a pair of mis-matched tail lights. Someone rammed me from behind one night causing a big dent in the bumper, damage to the interior and a crack in the left tail light. Pretty bad damage overall, but insurance paid for the repairs.
Problem was that I had a set of dark tinted lights and unfortunately no-one at the repair shop noticed, even though I told the insurance people (multiple times). They just ordered in the standard set, and when I complained they all just shrugged.
So now I have one clear tail light on the left and a dark tinted one on the right. ...Show more →
I can sell those tinted lights if you want. I'm sure some kid would like to have the tinted ones. I had a pair of really dark ones imported from Germany... ended up selling it... look too like a kid racer. I'll post a pic of it later.. (not at home at the moment)

The problem is that I only have one of each!
I sold my original set when I bought the tinted ones, and the repair guys threw away the tinted left tail light because it had a tiny crack in it.
edit: I remember now... I didn't sell my old lights, I threw em out.

If you want, I can get whichever tail light at trade price.. I used to work for Suttons so I still have a business link with them. From memory, the tinted ones are $150

Good work guys, 2nd place. It didn't take long! We should now aim for the first place. I wonder whether many people actually check out this thread and see what actually goes on here!?

Nice pic but a bit noisy James...where were you?
Thanks Zane, this was Pope Paul VI Park in Glebe. I was just killing time around Surrey Hills etc looking for a place to kick out a tripod. Didn't get a real lot for a night on the town but I'm sure we'll make up for that next weekend.
I uploaded a cleaner version of that file. Here's some 100% crops from that image:
On the left is straight out of the camera (pretty grotty) at iso 100 for 60", on the right is the Neat Image version. Maybe when the 350D comes out it will be time for an upgrade
This was done with Neat Image 4. Practically essential with the D30 at night. It's got an OK auto mode, but also has very granular control if you want it.
Also it can batch process & can input/output 48 bit tiffs. Generally I like it but if you're not careful it can damage the fine detail areas, so I often put the NI layer masked over the original in PS CS to preserve those fine areas.

Here's my contribution of some crazy act caught by my wife's P&S. Never been in the middle of a street but this one in the middle of the wave at Gold Coast 30 min after sunset (I don't usually wear thongs):
