You will need proof of work, such as invoices, just in case you are audited. eg, work based on word of mouth and cash payments won't be too convincing.
Well, declaring the cash payments with invoice (without GST) is another check. I'd love to be able to claim all my gear off work. I guess I could since I'll be using it for a work function coming up soon.

no morning service, thanks. The last one was a complete waste of time. I'd like to do the balloon fiesta, though... when was that on again?
btw, you were booked when we were going up to Palm Beach
Oh yeah, that's right, that was the day before Anzac Day...
Mate. this year you can drive and be booked, and i can be your character witness...."Edward is a good boy...While there is absolutely no excuse for him to behave in breach of the law, I invite the court to give him an opportunity to return to the right course he has been so far...I feel assured that Edward will reflect upon this extraordinary incident and continue to be a law-abiding citizen...blah blah blah"
The performance each morning will begin in the half light when those magnificent men in their flying machines prepare for the mass ascension of hot air balloons accompanied by a big band musical performance.
I could be convinced to go and give some local insight (if applicable)

meaning that we have to get there at the crack of dawn next week?
I received this email from Stu who owns Quality Cameras:
-----------
Good Morning my Friends and Customers
I am writing this to inform you as a valued customer, the current situation we are faced with at Quality Camera Sales Australia.
We have been notified by an Officer of the Australian Communications and Media Authority that we are in breach of Standards in place within Australia and New Zealand governing the sale of Electronic Equipment and the fitness of said equipment for the Australian Market.
When I was first told this , I natuarally presumed that this was a radio station calling, and this was a crank call.
This unfortunately is not the case.
It seems that an undisclosed individual(or large Multi-National Company has made the complaint, that as a company I supply goods into the Australian Market that have someone elses C-Tick Mark.
To 99.9% of you this will mean absolutely nothing, as it did to me.
What this C-Tick number essentially means is, the products that are sold under this banner are deemed to be compliant with EMC(Electro Magnetic Emissions) Standards and have been tested and proved compliant.
My first response to this was..."These are the same items that are sold everyday in Australian Stores". The response was "Sorry....YOU are the importer, and therefore must hold the test reports for all devices you sell"
I said in reply..."Canon Australia will have these reports...is that not enough?"....Response..."No you must hold a copy of the test reports".
Now I have had quite a few conversations with this Inspector from the ACMA, I have asked lots of questions of where these reports are obtainable, he has suggested that my wholesaler I buy from should produce the reports.
I checked.
My supplier has no knowledge of these reports..Probably as this only has relevance in New Zealand and Australia.
I suggested to this inspector that we are talking about Cameras and Lenses here....we are not talking about 999 Mega Watt Radio transmission equipment. Response was the same, "Gotta have test reports".
I asked him to find me their contact at Canon, so as I may request the reports from them, I was instantly provided with a Name and Phone Number.
I duly contacted Canon Australia, I had a nice long conversation with the person at Canon regarding the reports, He explained that each report was a manual approx 8 inches thick, and that each piece of equipment had a Manual of Similar size.
He also stated that there would be very little chance of Canon releasing info to me as it contained sensitive information, repair manuals, schematics etc etc...I was told to submit a request for the information via email which I have done.
Now to date I have had no reply.
I am very keen to get this matter settled and to continue providing Quality Product, Quality Service and Reasonable Pricing to all my friends(Customers).
I now humbly ask for your support,
I would like to prepare a presentation for the Canon "Powers that be", I intend to show them that my company is not just a "Bug" that can be squashed, and that I have a great deal of support from my friends(they call you customers)
If you can find the time to write a few words in an email expressing your opinion of Quality Camera Sales and the reason why you have/would purchase from us, I would be delighted to lay these on a table in front of me in a meeting.
Thankyou for taking the time to read this, and if you have the time, I thankyou for your honest appraisal of our Company
